This manual has been prepared for the use and guidance of Airworthiness Inspectors in the performance of their duties. It is necessary to mention that all matters pertaining to an Inspector's responsibilities can not be covered in this manual. Inspectors are expected to use good judgement in matters where specific guidance has not been given.

AIRWORTHINESS INSPECTOR'S HANDBOOK

The objective of this handbook is to provide guidance to the States on procedures for maintaining the airworthiness of aircraft once they have entered operrational seervice. The material is primarily intended to support the Standards and Recommended Practices relating to continuing airworthiness contained in Annex 6 Part I and Annex 8 to the Convention. It should be understood that the material presented in this generic handbook has to be adopted to suit the inspectors specific responsibilities in a State. In addition to providing guidance to the airworthiness authorities of States, the manual is also intended to be of use to airline operators who have the primary responsibility of maintaining the airworthiness of the aircraft.

The handbook has been prepared in two volumes.
